I thought I'd share my recent mod. Although my Z1 DoolZ Intake has been working quite well for me for over 2 years this change as part of a step be step process to improve performance. Some may view this as a tedious endeavour but my intention was to make improvements until I reached a point where I felt the improvement gains didn't sacrifice driveability and user friendliness. A little history. I first started out like most by removing the oem airbox and installing a single Z1 pop charger. After my engine rebuild the Z1 DoolZ intake was installed utilizing a dummy MAF. Last year I installed a second MAF and incorporated it with my Apexi NEO. This is the next stage in that process. The Z1 DoolZ Intake. You can see where the (still original) PTU was relocated to the top of the right Z1 Pop Charger. It'll always have a fresh air source to keep it cool yet not exposed to the wet elements

PTU relocated after removal of Z1 DoolZ.
Tight confines to contend with due to headlight HID igniter/ballast and Z1 Oil Cooler.

The old Z1 DoolZ Intake.

My new dual intake parts to include the Z1 Dual Intake elbows and couplers and an Ebay K&N Filter kit which includes aluminum MAF adapters and K&N filters part# RU-2520.

New Z1 Dual Intake installed.

With the filters tucked nicely behind the bumper support rail and behind the licence plate, it's not subjected to any turbulent air that can cause any stumbling or missing. And negates the need for the flower pot mod and remains dry even in wet weather. :)

The next phase will be the implementation of 2.5" turbo plumbing, hopefully this summer/fall.
